Schäffer 2430-2: New compact loader for the landscaping industry

Schäffer is set to unveil the second generation of its compact wheel loader 2430 at this year’s GaLaBau, the international trade fair for the planning, construction and maintenance of urban green and open spaces. The newly designed machine in the 0.5 m3 class now enables a significantly higher lifting capacity. The loader is therefore ideally equipped for transporting a pallet of paving stones. The compact loader’s lightweight design continues to enable its transport on a car trailer. This makes the machine the ideal companion for constructing green spaces, for paving and maintenance work and for municipal use. The efficient drive concept ensures cost-effective operation combined with minimal fuel consumption.

The cabin version of the 2430-2 has an operating weight of 2.5 tonnes. When equipped with suitable additional weights, it can effortlessly lift a pallet of paving stones weighing up to 1.8 tonnes to a height of 2.50 m, thereby also facilitating the loading and unloading of larger trucks. The high hydraulic performance of 42 l/min ensures flexibility when using attachments that place extensive demands on the working hydraulics. The loader is available with an overall height of 2.18 m and provides drivers with good all-round visibility when working. An SLT version of the machine, boasting an overall height of less than 2 m and identical performance capabilities, is also offered for use in environments with restricted overhead clearance.

The 2430-2 is driven by an 18.5 kW (25 hp) powerful Kubota diesel engine. The low-emission engine is the ideal starting point for the efficient drive concept of the 20 km/h machine. It operates without an exhaust gas treatment system and offers the highest torque in its class, Sebastian Bertelsmeier, Schäffer’s head of marketing, explains the benefits of the system: “The engine develops its maximum torque of 100 Nm from a low 1,500 rpm. This means less pollutant emissions, quieter operation and reduced fuel consumption. In practical tests, such as loading paving stone pallets, we recorded fuel consumption levels of less than 2.0 l/h – a truly remarkable achievement.”

With the 2430-2, Schäffer presents a new compact wheel loader in the 0.5 m³ class.

Thanks to Schäffer Power Transmission (SPT), the drive is regulated electronically, thus further enhancing efficiency. SPT additionally enables the use of cruise control. A particularly advantageous feature when a constant driving speed is required over longer distances, such as when working with mulchers or brooms. High Traction Force (HTF) is also part of the standard equipment for the 2430-2. It ensures automatic regulation of the traction force. When required, the maximum traction force is also accessible in second gear, eliminating the need to shift to first gear while also increasing the driving speed.

At GaLaBau 2024 Schäffer will present its machines and attachments in Hall 7 at Stand 130 and in the E-Mobility Area in the outdoor area.
